Fertilizer exports increase in both quantity and value

According to preliminary data from General Department of Vietnam Customs, the amount of fertilizer exported in June 2017 reached 95.7 thousand tons of fertilizers of all kinds, valued at $ 26.5 million, up 20.4% in volume and increase 10.6% in value over May – this is the second consecutive month of growth – the fertilizer export in the first 6 months of 2017 to 454 thousand tons, worth $ 125.3 million, up 36.37 % In volume and 31.05% in value over the same period in 2016.

Cambodia remains the main fertilizer export market of Vietnam, accounting for 35.4% of total fertilizer exports, reaching 160.8 thousand tons, valued at 51.6 million USD, up 72.82% in volume and An increase of 72.44% in value. The second largest export market was Malaysia, reaching 63.5 thousand tons, worth $ 11.5 million, up both in volume and value, up by 60.39% and 91.91%, respectively. The Korean market, with the export volume of 41 thousand tons, valued at USD 7.6 million, increased by 18.98% in volume but turnover decreased 12% over the same period.

In addition to these three major markets, Vietnam’s fertilizer exports to other markets such as Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan. In general, the first half of this year the amount of fertilizer exported to the markets have a positive growth rate, accounting for 75% and vice versa, the market decline is only 25%.

Especially, the fertilizer export to Laos market has the strongest increase, 1.8 times higher than the same period (82.33% increase), whereas the fertilizer export to the Philippines decreased the most, decreased 61.75% corresponding to 18 thousand tons.

In addition to the Lao market with strong growth, exports to some markets also grew quite as: Cambodia, Malasyia, Thailand increased 72.82% respectively; 60.39% and 71.37% respectively.
